Springtime in Portland

Striped Silk is from Malabar

Floral sheer Pollack Associates, Turquoise velvet from Romo

Although the flowers are blooming, The beautiful and sunny month of May in Portland, Oregon was only apart of our imaginative thoughts. It is June now and it is a fantastic sunny, clear day.. As the weekend begins, the weather is going to be perfect. Inspired by my client's garden and her beautiful antique area rug. I was able to give Springtime year round for this very cheerful homeowner. Along with the largest private collection of Henk Pander paintings,http://www.henkpander.com/The choices for my client's living room became very apparent. Bright, Clear , Happy and Colourful.  Various textiles were chosen.http://www.clarencehouse.com/ ,http://www.pollackassociates.com/ ,http://www.romo.com/ , http://www.malabar.co.uk/
Please note: The textiles are to the trade only.

A Home for the Holidays: Memorial Weekend 2011

Ceasarstone looks wonderful on the countertops.

Although quite bare, The Great Room is still very inviting and ready for holiday guests.

Missing  In Action. Dining table and chairs can't stop the celebration.

Homeowner is in Heaven. She is so amazed at the outstanding view.

Breakfast will be served on Sunday.

The  invitation to a modern family lodge in the mountains can  be very welcoming.  With the upcoming Memorial day holiday,My client really wanted to give her delightful family a preview of their extended family retreat in the beautiful high mountain country in Northern California. Although not complete. The modern family lodge was ready to move in at least for the holiday weekend. Earlier the upholstered pieces were in the warehouse in Portland, Oregon. The dining chairs have been slightly delayed.the dining table is being refinished. The beautiful Donghia chair will be socially late for this weekend of family fun.  The king size box spring was not ordered. The pale grey canvas Roman shades go up in the bedrooms next week.  The Indonesian bench found its way in the hall  near the door of the bunk house. The whimsical pony hide stools are sitting at the desk in the library. The pendleton blankets(modern solid wool ) carefully rest on the the other beds awaiting the guests that will be arriving shortly for a good old fashion back yard barbecue. What a back yard! filled with teak outdoor furniture.
Here are a few photos of the Great room. It will be exciting to see it come together even more. It is just the right amount of a subtle hint to the lodge yet it it modern, the architecture, the furniture, the outdoors are in a quiet harmonious symphony.

Family heirloom area rug finds a new home in the Lodge.
Soon, the cheerful chatter and laughter will fill this space as another  guest arrives this weekend. The jobsite became a lodge. This lodge is becoming a home.

Have a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend where ever you may spend it with your family.

sincerely,
